One of our absolute favorite things about covering soccer as opposed to throw ball, baseball, basketball or that icecapades with sticks they do up north, is the Lamar Hunt Open Cup where Our Heroes play competitive matches against teams from other leagues.
Of course, it’s the most prodigious when we get to play those rank amateurs down in Tampa, the Tampa Bay Rowdies again!
It was just announced that the I-4 Derby will have a bonus match on Wednesday May 28th at 8pm. Well it isn’t officially the I-4 derby as this is for bragging rights in the LHOP, but who’s counting, are we right?
The Lions will take on the Rowdies at Seminole Soccer Complex, while not an official stadium, it’s still not a baseball diamond which is more than we can say for Al Lang Stadium.
Tickets are $15 and will only be available to purchase on the day of the match. Due to Orlando City Youth Soccer (OCYS) tryouts occurring simultaneously, parking for the Open Cup match will be unavailable at Seminole Soccer Complex.
However, beginning at 6 p.m. on match-day, OCSC will provide free satellite parking nearby at Heathrow Elementary School, with shuttles available to transport fans to Seminole Soccer Complex.
