Lions fill 4th MLS roster spot with Tyler Turner

Orlando City signed their 4th MLS roster player with Tyler Turner today. The 17 year old defender is the number 1 ranked player in Florida and the number 2 defender in the country by Top Drawer Soccer.

Turner is the first defender signed for the 2015 MLS roster. Having started every preseason game at the Walt Disney Pro Soccer Classic, he evidently impressed the Lions’ coaching staff.

“We liked what we saw from him, not only when he was with the National Team, but also throughout the preseason with us,” said Head Coach Adrian Heath. “One of the things that we noticed straight away was how comfortable he is on the ball. For our defenders, that’s almost a required trait so we’re delighted to have him with us.”

Turner hails from Meriden, Connecticut and has played on both the U17 and U18 US Men’s National Teams, captaining the the former and scoring for the latter against Turkey and Brazil.
